안녕하세요 English with Yoo!의 Jennifer Yoo입니다. Hi this is Jennifer Yoo with ENGLISH WITH YOO!

오늘의 표현은 grow on you입니다.

Before we find out what today’s expression means, let’s listen to today’s conversation. Listen carefully.

Grow on you
Jen: You’re eating kimchi? I thought you didn’t like it at all!
Jason: I didn’t like it when I first tried it. However after eating it a couple of more times, it has grown on me.
Jen: I knew the taste of kimchi would grow on you someday.

본문에서 제가 Jason에게 “You’re eating kimchi? I thought you didn’t like it at all! 라고 묻자, Jason이 “I didn’t like it when I first tried it. However after eating it a couple of more times, it has grown on me. 그러자 저도 “I knew the taste of kimchi would grow on you someday.

Now keep today’s expression ‘grow on you’ in mind and let’s hear the conversation again.

Today’s expression is grow on you. If someone or something grows on you, you like it more and more than you did at first and you appreciate it more.

“ I didn’t like it when I first tried it. However after eating it a couple of more times, it has grown on me.”

Now let me give you some example sentences using today’s expression. “The new plan that Steve came up with grew on me as I thought about it more.” Here is another example sentence. “Korean food is growing on me.” ‘Grow on me’, 이 표현 잘 기억하시고요. Now that you know what today’s expression means, let’s listen to the conversation for the last time.
