오늘의 영어 표현은: Go with the flow 입니다.
Sometimes it’s best to just go with the flow, be open to unforeseen situations and be relaxed. Well, that’s what I ended up doing…going with the flow.

Rebecca: Which movie did you end up watching?
Jen: The Wolverine.
Rebecca: Oh! I thought you wanted to watch ‘Turbo’.
Jen: But my family wanted to watch ‘The Wolverine’ so I just decided to go with the flow. And that was fine with me.
Rebecca: That’s cool!
레베카는 저에게 ‘Which movie did you end up watching? 결국에는 어떤 영화를 봤니? 라고 물어보니까, 제가 “Wolverine, 영화우버린을 봤어’ 라고 대답햅습니다. 그랬더니 레베카는‘Oh! I thought you wanted to watch ‘Turbo’ 어! 그 영화 말고 ‘터보’보고 싶어하는 줄 알았는데’ 라고 하니까 ‘But my family wanted to watch ‘Wolverine’그런데 우리 가족들이 ‘우버린’ 영화 보자고 해서so I just decided to go with the flow 나도 그냥 따라 봤어~ and that was fine with me.’라고 제가 대답했죠.
오늘의 영어 표현go with the flow 인데요, Flow / F L O W 는 ‘흐름’ 이라는 뜻이고요, Go with (~something/someone) 은 ‘(~)에 따르다’ 라는뜻이있죠.
그래서 ‘go with the flow’ 는 말그대로 하면 ‘(자연스러운) 흐름에 따르다/맡기다 또는 물흐르는 데로 간다’는 말입니다.
To go with the flow means to do what other people are doing or to agree with their opinions. Go with the flow 는 ‘(~) 상황 속에서 흐름을 잘 따르다 / 흐름대로 따르다 / 또는 누군가의 의견에 동의 하다’ 라는 뜻입니다.
